I would also very much doubt that MS would do that, they can't afford such a screw up. Who would have thought that we are so much in agreement one of these days? Maybe they fully understand it's you at the other end, though, because they're watching through the webcam on your laptop. I'm not a fan of the Evil Empire, but if this was true it should have happened to the rest of us, right? I would have thought a webmaster would know better, too. I very much doubt that M$ deliberately destroyed half your photos, Fenwoodian. I would not be surprised if these destructive Windows 7 automatic upgrades keep coming in the future as MS's way of forcing us to upgrade to Windows 10. I would not be surprised if MicroSoft did this on purpose to help convince us Windows 10 upgrade holdouts to upgrade. Luckily I was able to find these hidden files and unhide them. After spending about 5 or 6 hours fixing the mess, I was able to determine that after this recent Windows 7 upgrade, MicroSoft had "hidden" most of my photo files. I lost about half of the photo files that I had on it. CANNOT set view next pic by date (always by name). Has Crop but then viewing any other photo is impossible afterwards. Has File Date Change in Photo, and Adjust Shotwell Photo Viewer v0.18.0 (has icon in L side bar) What I noticed right away as a photo expert The desktop team is currently gathering feedback about installing Tracker by default, and the feedback is generally pretty good, so this might not be an issue anymore. This is on the roadmap for 3.30, however.Īccording to the Ubuntu default apps wiki page, Gnome Photos was blocked from inclusion in 17.10 because of its dependency on tracker. If you want to view/edit an image, you need to open Photos, and go to the image.
